In December I wrote a post entitled Understanding the Las Vegas Real Estate Market. I listed a variety of recommended resources to educate yourself and ultimately your clients about current market conditions and trends.

Los Angeles City District 7 Council member Richard Alarcon opposes Newhall Ranch but endorsed Las Lomas? somethings wrong here, what side of the development fence is Alarcon on?
News came out this week that Los Angeles City Council members voted unanimously on a motion, headed up by Alarcon against the planned Newhall Land and Farming Co. development in the Santa Clarita Valley northwest of Stevenson Ranch, and against the first phase of that plan - the development of Landmark Village.

Most highly-paid corporate chiefs of listed firms have engineering degrees

Finance, banking, law and accountancy are often tipped to be the university courses which students hoping for a lucrative career should take.

Of the engineers, the most highly paid is Keppel Corp’s executive chairman Lim Chee Onn, who took home between $7.25 million and $7.5 million in the financial year just ended.

Too often have we heard parents and peers alike extolling the fiscal benefits of earning one’s livelihood in the financial and legal sectors.

But now, a recent bit of research by The Business Times might suggest otherwise.

The government has released more comprehensive da...

The government has released more comprehensive data on both the public and private housing market on websites in a bid to calm fears of escalating property prices.

The Housing and Development Board (HDB) has assured that just 70 percent of resale flats sold in the second quarter of this year were above valuation, despite recent record prices being set for some resale flats.

Supebowl wants a Bigger Hotel

SUPERBOWL Holdings yesterday said it will sell two properties in Balestier Road for $39.8 million.

Landmark Tower (above) on Chin Swee Road is going for $300m in a collective sale
They are slated to be developed into a 168-room hotel consisting of a

11-storey tower block on a two-storey podium with a basement car park and swimming pool.

The price was arrived at on a willing-buyer-willing-seller basis, SuperBowl said in a filing to the Singapore Exchange.

The company acquired the two properties last year for $17.8 million and their unaudited book value as at June 30 this year stood at $18.3 million.

Architects 61, which also designed The Cosmopolitan in the River Valley area, said that by elevating the 417-unit Soleil@Sinaran, ‘the privacy of the units is enhanced to greater heights’.

Considerations in the design of Soleil@Sinaran included a high plot ratio of 3.5, a height restriction of about 40 storeys and high-density living.
