Ohio State opens at noon on Saturday against those high-powered Penguins of Youngstown State (their first I-AA opponent ever). The Browns open their season on Sept. 9 agains the much-hated Steelers in Cleveland.

It’s a great time of year.

The photograph is of our niece, Alexa, who has weird parents — they are Cowboy fans — so we had to get her some good football atire to enjoy during her first football season!

Homes are more affordable thanks to price declines and increased earnings. Nationally 43.1% of homes are affordable up from 40.6% a year ago for the same three months of 2006.

Among large cities Indianapolis is most affordable at 86.8% and Los Angeles is least affordable at 3%.

The National Association of Realtors Profile of Buyers’ Home Features Preferences in 2007. A typical home purchased by buyers participating in the survey was a $205,000, 12 years old, 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom, 1,840 square feet with central air conditioning and a garage.

2. Air conditioning, 75%.
3. Walk-in closet master bedroom, 53%.
4. Hardwood floors, 28%.

During the 2nd quarter, the median single-family home price fell 1.5% to $223,800, according to the National Association of Realtors (NAR) which was the 4th consecutive quarterly price decline. Median condo prices increased 1% to $226,800. (Go To Article: cnn.com)

The National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index of builder confidence fell 2 points to 22, the lowest in 16 years on January 1991.

Builders are reducing prices and giving non-price incentives to increase sales.
